[Aventurine watches as the movers bring his new statue into his garden. He recently bought a new house with a garden and it seemed a shame to keep it empty like it was. He'll figure out if he wants a statue or not later, but this one was decently priced for the quality and he is never going to say no to art of a pretty man where he can see it.

As the statue is placed down, Aventurine notices an odd device stuck on the back.]

Take that off, what the hell.

[Cuddled close like this, Aventurine might be able to tell how that makes Veritas's heartbeat quicken, and he turns a bit pink.]

[And he just settles in closer. The pizza won't be here for a bit, it's fine.]

[He buries his face in the crook of Aventurine's neck for a bit, sighing happily.

He lifts his head after a bit, with a thoughtful noise.]

... I wonder if whatever heard that bastard's wish to bring me to life knew he didn't deserve me.

So it brought you to life, but didn't make you human? Why would it have done that now?

I... do have a guess as to why. It was waiting for me to fall in love.

[takesitall]

Fall in love...?

[Oh. Why does that hurt?]

Do I know them.

I certainly should hope so, considering it's you.

[takesitall]

[Wait.]

What? You...you're in love with me?

[ignoranceisblight]

You were the first person to treat me like, well, a person. When you realized I was sentient and alive, you took me in without any hesitation whatsoever. You've always been so eager to help me experience something new.

You are... incredibly kind and clever, and our time together is among my-- no, it is absolutely my most cherished memory.

[takesitall]

[Aventurine is quiet, letting what Veritas says sink and then turning it over. Of course he did all of those things, Veritas was a person, even if he wasn't human. Only a monster would treat him any differently.

But that's what the sculptor did. And that's what other people might have done.]

You know, I was just thinking to myself that I might be falling for you, too. I wasn't going to say anything since, well, you're still new to all of this.

[He chuckles a little, squeezing just a little tighter.]

I am incredibly glad it's mutual.

It is~ And I'm glad it is, too. I'd miss our stargazing dates.

I would, too... They're one of the things I look forward to the most.

[... As he chances pressing a kiss to Aventurine's cheek.]

[He smiles and since he can't return the kiss like this he just kisses over Veritas's heart.]

Now we can make picnics of them.

[Oh, that gets him turning pink.]

We can.

[... He can experience those to the fullest now... There's one more brief squeeze before he loosens his embrace just a little, enough for Aventurine to move.]

[And he does, leaning up for a kiss.]

[A kiss happily given. It's even better than he expected, too...]
