Yeah, it wouldn't be difficult. I don't know what you have with it already, but I can easily enchant it so it filters noise and light out better at least.
I've always found Libeccio overpriced, personally, and Trattoria Trussardi has the... more pleasant atmosphere.
[Read: Isn't frequented by the fucking mob.]
Ah, they're-- One moment.
[Since that shelf in the cabinet is definitely too high for Aventurine to reach without a step-stool. Ratio grabs the bowls and brings them down to Aventurine's reach before he starts to get the pasta ready-- reserving half a cup of the water before he drains it.]
This sort of thing continues for a few months. They meet up for dinner and wine, sometimes staying in sometimes going out, and Aventurine manages to make dinner a few times without help. It's nice!
It's really nice.
Too nice, almost, that if Aventurine wasn't sure he was wearing his amulet at all times he would be very worried that it was fake. But he always has the amulet on unless he needs energy, so it can't be that. It can't be fake.
But it has to be, because people like him don't get anything else. Right?
One night, it's dinner at Ratio's again. Aventurine was supposed to host, but he made something up about cleaning and a disaster with the cats to get out of hosting this time. He needs to talk to Ratio, and that's best done in a place not his house.
He's brought wine again, of course, and a dessert.]
[Something has occurred to Ratio the past few months, but he hasn't really said anything about it.
Largely because he's been scared of saying the wrong thing and driving Aventurine off.
Ratio... isn't thrilled with the change of dinner being at his place, but he puts up with it with... okay some grumbling, but Aventurine gave him a week's warning, it's fine.
For tonight's dinner, he's opted for steaks with a spicy marinade. Those are resting when Aventurine arrives.]

You know, I could make the mask better, if you don't mind some demonic magic.

You could?
[He has to admit, he's interested.]

It's done, I'd say-- here. [He offers the other piece.] This is what it should feel like when it's ready.

...so that one Italian place really does suck, if this is how pasta is meant to be. I knew I wasn't being picky.

[Just saying.
Aventurine pouts at how high the bowls were because this is short demon prejudice but then Ratio does...that.]
Why save water?
no subject
[He has a sense of self-preservation, thank you.]
It's to add to the sauce. We're likely not going to use all of it, but it'll help the consistency.
[He'll start adding the noodles to the bowl Aventurine was using for the butter mixture once they've drained.]
Here. Use the tongs to make sure everything is coated with the sauce. I'll add the water if we need it.

I did it!

Perfect timing. Dinner's almost ready.

[He smiles, stepping in.]
Red wine and your favorite, a flourless chocolate cake I managed to make myself~

Wonderful. I can't wait to try it.
[... steak, wine, chocolate cake, that almost feels a little-- nope, not thinking about that right now.
He leads the way to the kitchen, gesturing for Aventurine to sit while he gets their plates.]

Hey, doctor. I have a question.
