[On the surface, it seemed like a simple task. From the information Wing had been given, this Aventurine guy was root of his client's troubles, so the plan was to get in good with him and find the right leverage to bring him down.

This casino's a pretty high-class place, so he's dressed nicer than usual, and a touch of magic smooths away scars and signs of sleepless nights handily.

Oh, I love that place. I usually just get it delivered, though. How fancy is it, would you say?

It's a bit more on the lower-key end, I've found. Still a pretty classy place and all, but the atmosphere's a little more relaxed.

[Aventurine sends a "see you then" and settles in to finish work. He has some assets to reclaim, since those who held them are now in prison for the foreseeable future.

The week passes and Aventurine offers to send a car to pick Wing up, but either way he'll be waiting at the restaurant for his date. He's not nearly as extravagantly dressed as he was at the casino, but he does have on the top with the spade shaped boob window. His coat is much tamer, at least.]

[Wing's own outfit is fairly simple, all things considered, just made a bit more fancy with some of his nicer jewelry.

And also he opted to wear heels this time.

He's all smiles when he spots Aventurine, hurrying over.]

Hey--did you get taller?

[He laughs a bit.]

I mean, I could if I wanted--[He did at least mention the shapeshifting magic offhand that first night.]--but I'm just wearing heels this time, that's all.

[A Look.]

That's unnecessary...even if you do look good in them~

[He's just playing at being salty about being short, as evidenced by the smile.]

Come on. Our reservation is soon~

[The look just prompts a giggle. He does look good in the heels, thank you very much.

He grins and offers his arm.]

I'm just saying, making yourself taller feels a bit pointed.

[But he takes Wing's arm and leads them into the restaurant. They're quickly shown to a table that's a bit away from most of the restaurant.]

Here we are. This was as private as I could get, so it should be quiet.

These shoes happened to look best with this outfit, that's all.

[But that's where he'll leave it.]

Ah, this is a good spot. [It's his favorite table in the restaurant, coincidentally, but maybe that's not a surprise.]

I'm glad you approve.

[He'll just pull out Wing's chair before taking a seat himself.]

Do you drink? Or are we staying sober tonight?

[He smiles as he takes a seat.]

I'll have a drink or two, but probably not much more than that.

[He just prefers having a clear head.]

Fair enough. But go on, order whatever you'd like. It's on my dime~

[There's a really good rice dish he's been craving--]

[He could get his usual... but there's steak kebabs that are served with rice that look really good, so he'll go for those instead.

(It's not terribly more expensive than his usual, at least. He just never can justify it to himself more often than not.)]

[Their order is taken and drinks come out. Aventurine leans forward with a small smile.]

So, is it safe to ask how you managed what you did, or should that wait?
