[This was supposed to be an easy con. Well, easy-ish.

Taking down the entire IPC is a bit of a far-off pipe dream for Wing and his team (he's still marveling that he's ended up with a team, some days), but particular nasty individuals within or working with them is fair game. Just, you know, make sure picking them off is few and far between.

This was supposed to be a relatively routine takedown of a shithead of a mark. But there's been a wrench thrown into the works--one that the mark refuses to refer to by a name, and it leaves Wing seeing red. A slave.

This fucker has a slave.

Wing maintains his perfectly polite facade, the one meant to lure the target in, so that Wing can lure him into acting against his own best interests, too blinded by what he has to offer. Wing's all smiles, but for anyone really paying attention, he's seething.

Once the mark has left the room--he'll be out for a while, if a couple of Wing's teammates have anything to say about it--Wing makes his way over to get a better look at that slave.]

[As he wraps his arms around Kakavasha's shoulders.]

... The book is, too, really.

Are you sure? She won't miss it?

[As he pulls the photo off the page to look at it better.]

From what Akabane said, it hadn't been touched in years anyway.

[takesitall]

If you're both sure.

[He holds the photo close.]

...that dish was my favorite, when Mama could make it.

Is that so? I'm glad I decided on making it, then.

[He briefly squeezes Kakavasha tighter before letting go.]

Go sit down and I'll bring everything in?

[takesitall]

Alright. Oh, if you have chai? It's best served cold with milk, with this.

[quicksilverwings]

Alright!

[Luckily, he had prepared some earlier, so he brings that out as well.]

Technically, I couldn't find it, but I could find what's used to make it.

[Once everything's set on the coffee table, he sits down on the sofa.]

[Kakavasha is still looking at the photo when Wing comes in and sits down. He sets it aside, safely under his phone, and smiles.]

It all smells amazing. Do you know how to eat this? It's kind of spicy.

[quicksilverwings]

[Something was written in the book about how to eat this, but...]

... Show me?

[takesitall]

Yeah.

[And he does, showing that it's best if it's eaten with bread or something to cut the spice while also actually telling some stories from when he was a kid. It's the first time he's really ever talked about Sigonia.]

There's a dessert, something just a little sweet, that Sis used to make. I don't know what she called it, though, but it was good with this.

[And Wing listens, paying rapt attention, hanging onto Kakavasha's every word.]

Do you remember what was in it?

[takesitall]

A sort of sweet juice or syrup, made from a type of plant I never learned the name of, or honey if we had some. Chai spices? And it was baked, so flour.

[He nods, thoughtful.]

We can look through that book later to see if we can try to find it or something like it.

[takesitall]

Alright. It was fluffy, I know that much.

[He finally takes a bite of dinner and needs a moment again. It tastes like home.]

[quicksilverwings]

[Wing's quiet for a while, to let the two of them eat dinner in relative quiet for a bit, but eventually, he speaks up again.]

... All the stuff you have fond memories of... all the stuff that was important to you... I want to know about as much of it as I can. I want to be able to share in those things with you.

[takesitall]

...really?

[Kakavasha looks over at Wing.]

No one else cares.

[quicksilverwings]

Yeah, really. All that stuff that's important to you... I want to share in it because you're important to me.

[takesitall]

[He smiles.]

Not as important as you are to me, I bet~

[He's only slightly teasing. Wing is the most important person in his life, after all.]

[quicksilverwings]

[Wing smiles, suddenly shy, then pauses.]

... Hey, Kakavasha... When it's just us... you can call me Ciar. [A beat.] It's my real name. Denzel knows it, but... you're the only one allowed to use it.

[takesitall]

Ciar.

[He smiles.]

It suits you.

[quicksilverwings]

[Ciar's smile widens a little as he takes a moment to place one of his hands over Kakavasha's.]

[takesitall]

[He smiles and squeezes Ciar's hand.]

Thank you again.

[quicksilverwings]

Of course, Kakavasha. [A pause as he squeezes back.] ... Anything for you.

[takesitall]

Careful, Ciar. That sounds...like something.

[There's no way he means it like that.]
