[Ciar has been living on the edge of town for a while. Nobody, at least, messes with the dragon. He pays no attention to whatever the rumors might say about him. He just wants to mind his own business.

It's a nice, quiet little existence, if a little bit of a lonely one. At the moment, he's curled up with a blanket and a good book, listening to the rain outside. Though a bit of noise that is very much not the rain catches his attention, making him look up.]

[Kakavasha smiles.

They get around to their errands and then lunch, taking it to-go so they can eat in the park.]

That's everything we needed, right?

Should be, yeah.

[As he opens the container with his order, holding it so Kakavasha can take from it as he pleases as well.]

Groceries and the stuff we wanted for our home since we have more room now...

[Always appreciated, as he does the same.]

And books, so I can finally get better at reading.

[He beams.]

Smart as you are, it won't be long until you've gotten good enough to read my books.

I hope so. I know you're skipping over the spicy scenes in that fantasy series~

It's embarrassing to read them out loud...!

[He's laughing a little, though.]

[He just giggles, picking up some of his own food... not to take a bite himself, but to offer it to Kakavasha.]

[And he takes it with a smile.]

[Ciar's smile softens.]

This restaurant was a good pick, Kakavasha.

[He offers a bite of his food to Ciar.]

[He takes it, expression brightening.]

Mm! That's wonderful.

[God, Ciar is pretty.

Some time passes, and the lair is expanded a bit more. The area around the lair starts to change as well, as they end up helping a runaway long and his friends who decide to stay nearby. After that, they end up helping a bounty hunter who asks to use the area as a base of operations as needed.

It's when they end up taking in a pair of twins looking for a place to recover after some other dragon-based nonsense that Vasha tracks down Ciar.]

[Ciar is at work in the kitchen, though he puts down what he's doing when Vasha comes in.]

Hi, Vasha. Something up?

Not really, but I have been thinking. Do you think we might want to start a village or something?

[quicksilverwings]

... Honestly, we might as well at this rate. Especially if we keep getting people who need a safe place to stay.

[takesitall]

Yeah. The Eisners mentioned some friends who also need a safe haven--I didn't ask for details--and who knows who else.

[quicksilverwings]

Yeah. There's a half-demon who got in touch with me recently, said a friend of his needed a place to lay low for a while, too.

[He slips off his apron, making his way over to Vasha.]

[takesitall]

The one with the bird, yeah?

[He leans against Ciar when he comes closer.]

Yeah. Do we know any construction guys, though?

[quicksilverwings]

I know a guy who knows a guy. I'll ask him to put us in touch.

[He wraps his arms around Vasha, briefly burying his face in the crook of the werewolf's neck.]

[takesitall]

[Oh, stand up cuddle time. He promptly hugs Ciar tight.]

Good. Wait, is it the guy allergic to me?

Nah, different guy. It's the menreiki.

[There's a pleased hum at the hug.]

...please tell me he isn't going to suggest that loud stupid oni. Or the louder, stupider brother.

He probably won't. He knows you don't like either of them. He might tap the hellhound, though.
