[Aventurine used to be a favorite of the International Private Trade Company (IPC for short). He was young, clever, and very charming and therefore made them so much money in trade agreements.

So when he set fire to their head office and ran off with his sister and the rest of the thought lost Avgin armada, it was a little surprising. That's on them, though, as he never hid his hatred for some of the higher ups in the Company.

Now Kakavasha--or Captain Vasha--heads the Armada with it's flagship the Stoneheart, a notorious pirate who sails the seas and actively hunts the IPC ships. It's a dangerous life, but he loves it.]

Then we we get back to the harbor, you have got to try beef curry. I think you'll like it. Ooh, or steak.

[A small smile.]

[It takes them a few days, closer to a week, before they reach the harbor Vasha had mentioned. Nameless Island ("Yes, that is really the name, it's a terrible joke.") is home to Port Astral, named for the gorgeous reflections of the night sky you can see in the water around the island. It's a safe haven for many people, especially the Avgin Armada.

As they make ready to dock, Vasha tracks Veritas down. He's not sure the siren ever heard of this place, and it is...a place that requires explanation.]

[Veritas is out on the deck, trying to keep out of the crew's way. He brightens a bit when he sees Vasha approach, though.]

There you are~ How are you feeling?

Nervous, to tell you the truth. I've always avoided any sort of human settlement before, so this is almost a little daunting.

[takesitall]

Well, I have wonderful news for you. You still get to avoid human settlements for a little while longer.

[A passing crew member snorts.]

Port Astral is home to a dragon, one of the most powerful spellcasters in the world, a girl who is probably some sort of faerie, one human, and whatever the hell the twins are. My money is personally on fallen stars, but Parisa thinks they might just be semi-feral humans.

And you're certain they'll be alright with...?

[You know. The whole siren thing.]

[takesitall]

Oh, absolutely. Miss Robin spends a lot of time in the area, and she's a siren.

[ignoranceisblight]

Ah. Fair enough, then.

[The fact that another siren spends considerable time in the area is a comfort, evident in the way Veritas visibly relaxes.

... He may still keep his wings out when they're outdoors, though. Just in case ]

Trust me, unless you do something nasty to the people here, the Nameless are some of the most accepting people you'll find on the seas. They accepted the Avgin, after all.

... That does help.

[He sighs softly.]

I can't quite help the nerves still, but...

No, I get it. It's a lot, yeah? You've been through a lot in the last few weeks.

[ignoranceisblight]

It... is a lot, yes.

[He's tired.]

[takesitall]

Then instead of the usual big welcome party they hold, I'll send Parisa and you and I can find you a place to stay where it's quiet, yeah?

[... oh.

He smiles a little and nods.]

I'd appreciate that. I... don't think parties are for me, anyway.

[He hesitates for a moment.]

Though... I do think I'd rather stay close to you, if possible.

[The idea of being too far from Vasha at this point is mildly distressing.]

[takesitall]

Yeah? I'm pretty sure there should be an empty bungalow near where I usually stay, in that case. I'll have Parisa bring us some dinner once we disembark, yeah?

That sounds good. Thank you.

[takesitall]

[They dock and disembark and Vasha introduces Veritas to Welt and Himeko, who send them on their way before March, Stelle, and Caelus show up to be loud. Parisa promises to have someone bring them dinner later.

Vasha offers an arm to Veritas.]

So you don't get lost.

[Veritas smiles and takes that arm.]

Thank you. Shall we, then?

[takesitall]

[They head off together, leaving the docks behind. There's no way to avoid the marketplace, unfortunately, but Vasha does stop to a fancy hair piece in gold, one that looks like laurel leaves.

He hands it to Veritas.]

Here you are~

[The marketplace, at least, has Veritas curious, the siren looking around as the two of them walk around.

His eyes widen slightly in surprise when he realizes Vasha has bought a hair piece that had caught his eye, and he carefully takes it. He hadn't even said anything--

He smiles, suddenly feeling a bit shy.]

... Really, for me? Thank you...

[takesitall]

[Good to know he was right about Veritas being interested by that!

Vasha just smiles.]

I think it'll look good on you~ And honestly, after the hell you've been through you deserve something nice.

I'll try it on in a while, then.

[Once they've gotten to where Veritas will be staying.]

[And that would be...

With Vasha, as it seems most of the bungalows in that area had been wrecked by monkeys a few months ago and haven't been rebuilt.]

Huh. That's...you'd think they'd have anti-monkey measures.
