[Ciar has been living on the edge of town for a while. Nobody, at least, messes with the dragon. He pays no attention to whatever the rumors might say about him. He just wants to mind his own business.

It's a nice, quiet little existence, if a little bit of a lonely one. At the moment, he's curled up with a blanket and a good book, listening to the rain outside. Though a bit of noise that is very much not the rain catches his attention, making him look up.]

You're welcome, Kakavasha.

[He smiles a little, yawning as well. He picks up the crystal, dimming its glow slightly and making the noises a bit louder with magic before setting it just outside the blanket fort-- close enough to still hear it, but also just to muffle it slightly.

He smiles and settles in, waiting for Kakavasha to do the same.]

[He settles down almost instantly, curling up near Ciar and falling asleep pretty quickly.]

[Ciar puts an arm over him and is out like a light soon after.

They settle into a comfortable life like that, with Ciar caring for Kakavasha, and Kakavasha becoming something of a protector for him in turn.

They're a little older now, and on a rare trip into town--Ciar's expanded his lair considerably and they decided to get more things for the place while they were out to get food. The plan got a little derailed after Kakavasha dealt with a would-be mugger that Ciar hadn't noticed. Right now, the two of them are sitting on a bench, Ciar worriedly checking the werewolf over.]

I'm sorry, Kakavasha, I should've been paying more attention...

[takesitall]

[Kakavasha shrugs, but he winces.]

It's fine. He had a regular knife, at least, so it'll heal eventually.

[quicksilverwings]

Still.

[He does have a first aid kit on him, so he'll get it out and start patching the injury up.]

[takesitall]

[It's a nasty slash.]

Still nothing. I heal, you don't. It's fine.

[quicksilverwings]

It doesn't feel fine... I don't like it when you get hurt, especially for my sake.

[As he carefully takes care of the slash.]

I can heal, it's just not as quickly as you do.

[takesitall]

I know, but I'd rather take the hits than you if I can, Ciar.

[quicksilverwings]

Still don't like seeing you get hurt...

[He's pouting a bit as he works.]

... But I do appreciate you looking out for me. I'll be more careful.

[So this won't have to happen again.]

[takesitall]

And I'll be there if something happens all the same. You're not getting hurt if I can help it.

[quicksilverwings]

[Ciar finishes tending to the wound, then gently bumps his forehead against Kakavasha's.]

... Let's rest a little before resuming what we came to town for?

[He puts the first aid kit away, then reaches for Kakavasha's hand.]

[takesitall]

[He takes Ciar's hand and squeezes.]

Alright. And then maybe lunch?

[quicksilverwings]

[Squeezing back.]

Yeah, definitely. That place you mentioned wanting to try.

[takesitall]

Yeah! With the spicy food, if you don't mind?

[quicksilverwings]

I don't mind at all. It sounds wonderful.

[takesitall]

[Kakavasha smiles.

They get around to their errands and then lunch, taking it to-go so they can eat in the park.]

That's everything we needed, right?

[quicksilverwings]

Should be, yeah.

[As he opens the container with his order, holding it so Kakavasha can take from it as he pleases as well.]

Groceries and the stuff we wanted for our home since we have more room now...

[takesitall]

[Always appreciated, as he does the same.]

And books, so I can finally get better at reading.

Yes!

[He beams.]

Smart as you are, it won't be long until you've gotten good enough to read my books.

[takesitall]

I hope so. I know you're skipping over the spicy scenes in that fantasy series~

It's embarrassing to read them out loud...!

[He's laughing a little, though.]

[takesitall]

Which is why I've got to learn to read! I want to know what's going on~

[He just giggles, picking up some of his own food... not to take a bite himself, but to offer it to Kakavasha.]

[And he takes it with a smile.]

Mmm...so good.

[Ciar's smile softens.]
