Veritas is busy shopping for dinner, otherwise he'd have been here too. I apparently ate the last of the cheese and he needs that.

Oh well~ That just means you get more time to cuddle with me and the kitties and you get your gift first.

Oh? You got us gifts? You do love us.

[He laughs.]

Darling, don't act like I don't do this every time a job takes me elsewhere for a significant amount of time.

[As he pauses to pull out the package, then hands it over--a few of the local specialties from where he'd gone this time, as well as a cute little black cat plush, a bow made up of multiple ribbons in colors representing all three of them adorning its neck.]

[Aventurine is smitten as soon as he sees the plush, tucking it under his arm so he can also take the snacks.]

But it's always a nice surprise! I love them.

Good, I'm glad.

[As he smiles and presses a kiss to Aventurine's head.]

I saw the plush and knew I had to get it for you immediately.

I love it. Can I see the duck you got Veritas?

[He knows you, Ciar.]

[He grins and pulls it out-- This one has a big sunhat and sunglasses. The sunglasses, amusingly, coincidentally look similar to the ones Aventurine wears.]

Oh that's adorable-- did they steal my look?

[He's pretty sure he has that sunhat too!]

[He giggles.] I had to do a double take when I saw it. And immediately had to buy it.

He's going to love it. Now we just need one that looks like you~

I have to admit, I did start looking, just in case. Though, maybe I can leave that one in your hands, since I'm giving him the one that looks like you~?

Can do. There's a few favors I can call it. A little dragon-duck.

[He giggles.]

[And by now, they've gotten outside and to the car, so Ciar gives Aventurine one more kiss on the head before slipping around to the passenger's side in the back.]

[Akira waves as Ciar slides in. Aventurine follows suit, and the sunglasses come off with a sigh. Kakavasha leans against Ciar.]

[Ciar waves back to Akira before turning his attention to Kakavasha.]

I missed you, too. [A quick kiss.] Sorry I was gone so long this time.

It's not your fault. I'm just...tired.

[Which is Kakavasha for "I had a depressive episode while you were gone and am still recovering". They happen, still.]

Ah. [Another kiss, this one a bit longer than the last.] Well, I do have a bit of good news. Unless an emergency comes up, the team and I are taking a break for a couple months.

Good. You can help me strongarm our smartest third into a vacation.

Gladly. It says a lot that I don't remember the last time he actually took one!

So he is far overdue for one! Honestly, I worry about him sometimes...

It's a miracle he hasn't keeled over from overwork, honestly. It's all thanks to us.

[A nod in agreement, then a huff.]

We really need to talk him into breaks more often.
