[Veritas, having located and put the flowers in a vase, comes back over, letting his hand rest on Vasha's shoulder.]

...Kakavasha. I prefer Vasha, though.

[Nisha can almost certainly guess why.]

You're not, no. There's a few of us who've been around and beneath notice. Or at least we've tried to be. [A beat.] ... Do you want some chai? I made some before you got here.

...yeah. I'd love some chai.

[She dismisses herself to go get the chai, leaving Veritas and Vasha alone.

Veritas quietly takes Vasha's hand.]

Other Avgin...how long have you known them?

I met Nisha and her brother a couple years ago. Her brother owns a salon in one of the quieter parts of town.

A salon, huh...good for him. Is he here too?

He is. He's the one making dinner.

[A gentle squeeze.]

... He'll be more than happy to give you a job, if you want it.

...I'll need to talk to them about that. There's...some bullshit related to my name and why I'm a professional gambler they should know about.

[Another squeeze to Vasha's hand, as Nisha comes back in with the chai and a slightly older man on her heels.]

Ooh, so you're the cutie Veritas has been so taken with, huh?

[And Vasha, ever the baby brother, just makes a face at this guy he doesn't know.]

[Samir's expression softens at the name and he nods, laughing a little.]

Samir, as Veritas said. He hasn't been able to shut up about his "dear gambler"~

Why are you like this. Don't you have dinner to focus on?!

[Samir just cackles.]

[He looks up at Veritas with a smile.]

[Veritas's expression softens immediately when Vasha smiles up at him and he nods, lifting their hands so he can press a kiss to Vasha's knuckles.]

[The world is just him and Veritas right now.]

[Samir and Nisha grin at each other before slipping out of the room to leave the two lovebirds alone.

Veritas barely notices, too busy pulling Vasha closer.]

We've only known each other a couple of weeks...I'm already dear?

[He leans up for a kiss.]

You are. I was... astonished how quickly you became important to me.

He intertwines their fingers, expression soft.

Nisha does briefly return to the room, setting a pair of cups of chai down for the two of them.]

[Vasha does not even notice, too lost in Veritas's everything.]

And people call you cold. Idiots.

Well, we already knew that.

[He chuckles, only pulling back to pick up the chai, handing one cup to Vasha first.]

[He takes it, smiling and taking a sip.]
