[Ratio doesn't really ask what Aventurine gets up to when he's off doing whatever it is he does.

It's late right now, and Ratio's minding his own business, as he does. Probably not going to bed terribly soon anyway.

So, you know, perfect time for interruptions to his night.]

[He chuckles a little, scritching under Aventurine's chin a little.]

Go ahead and sleep if you're tired, Aventurine.

[It'll just be illegal to move for a bit.

... He may need to brace himself for ending up with a lap full of a considerably more human-shaped gambler but he'll cross that bridge when he gets to it.]

[Another yawn, and off Aventurine drifts. He really needs the nap.

He does not transform during his nap, at least, only waking up when he starts to get hungry. But how to tell Ratio he's hungry...]

[Ratio at the moment happens to be on his phone, though he smiles when he happens to look down and sees Aventurine's awake.]

[Hm...ah!

He scrambles up, paws on Ratio's cheek. He'd put them on his mouth but he doesn't want to be a problem. Yet.]

[Yet.

He lets out a surprised noise, but laughs a little, putting down his phone.]

... Ah, right, you haven't eaten yet today, have you?

[takesitall]

[A pointed meow.

He has not and he is hungry.]

Alright, let's get you something to eat.

[Off to the kitchen! Where Ratio swiftly realizes the precooked chicken in his fridge is not suitable for cats, so he'll have to cook some himself.

At least it doesn't take too long, and before they know it, Ratio is sitting on the floor with a small plate of plain, cooked meat that he's cut into bite-sized pieces.]

[Note to self: figure out what's safe for cats to eat because plain is boring.

But the chicken is so good, Aventurine can't help but eat fast and maybe gorge a little.]

Careful, Aventurine. Try not to eat too quickly.

[But he's chuckling a little. This is cute.]

[A muffled mew, but he does try to slow down. He's just hungry, okay?

He finishes soon enough and then jumps up on the counter and then into the sink. Thirsty!]

[He laughs and stands up, filling a small bowl with water and setting it on the counter.]

[Yay! He is a happy kitty.

Once he's drank his fill, he scrambles back up Ratio's arm to sit on his shoulder. He's good now.]

[And Ratio reaches up to give him a few pets.

He goes back to the living room and sits down again, expecting a bit to play again once he does ]

[He does want to play, chasing string and laser pointers until he just sort of conks out for the rest of the day. He'll turn back to human at some point during the night.]

[And Ratio, after his nighttime routine, carries Aventurine to the guest room so he can wake up in a bed.

... And if Ratio happens to fall asleep there too, well... Don't worry about it.]

[Aventurine doesn't even realize he's back to human shape right away, so tuckered out from his first transformation. He just knows he's in a bed, it's comfortable, and there's someone right there to cuddle with.

He is very, very cuddly, even as a human.]

[And Ratio... can't bear to do anything about that, when he wakes up and realizes Aventurine's cuddling him.

... Well. He does end up putting an arm over Aventurine. This is pretty nice, actually.]

[Slowly, surely, Aventurine starts to wake up. He blinks, confused, before smiling a little.]

M'human.

You must've changed back overnight. Good morning.

[He's not moving.]

[takesitall]

Mm...wait, doctor?!

[The sleepy smile falls and is replaced by sleepy confusion.]

Am I in your bed?

[ignoranceisblight]

No, I brought you to the guest room and ended up falling asleep here myself.

[He yawns.]

How are you feeling?

[takesitall]

Like I just had a really good vacation followed by the best night's sleep I've ever had.

[He's too comfortable to move.]

[ignoranceisblight]

[Small smile.]

Good. No lingering pain or discomfort from the transformation, then?

[He lifts the arm that he'd put over Aventurine, but only to start combing through his hair.]

I think I'm a little sore, but nothing weird.

[Oh, hairpets. He can't help but relax into those pets.]

Hungry.

Once we're ready to move, I'll make breakfast. Something a bit more interesting than yesterday's meal, at least.
