It's late right now, and Ratio's minding his own business, as he does. Probably not going to bed terribly soon anyway.

[As he pulls a chair closer to the bed.]

[He gestures vaguely.]

[He reaches out to comb his fingers through Aventurine's hair.]

I'm used to treating therianthrope bites, and as much as I'll complain at you in the moment, I never actually mind treating you.

[Normally, he'd never say as much so plainly, but it's something Aventurine needs to hear right now, he thinks.]

[He smiles a little, tired.]

Now rest, Aventurine. I'll be right here.

Alright.

[He sleeps for several hours. He sleeps a lot the next few days until, finally, he has his first transformation.

And now he is going through the house, meowing and looking for Ratio. Help!]

[Ratio, who had stepped out to accept a package, steps back inside, blinking in surprise when he hears meowing before he realizes what must have happened.

He closes the door.]

In here, Aventurine.

[takesitall]

[LOUD FUSSY MEOW as he goes down to the entryway.

He is a blond-orangish cat. Because of course.]

[Of course.

He sets the package aside, kneeling down as Aventurine approaches.]

[takesitall]

[He goes right up to Ratio and promptly scrambles up his arms to sit on his shoulder.]

[He laughs a little, reaching up to steady Aventurine and making sure he stays in place as Ratio stands.]

Careful now.

[... And okay, he can't resist the urge to give Aventurine a few neck scritches.]

[He purrs, eyes closed in a happy kitty face. This is heaven.]

[Adorable.

Ratio will go about his business around the house for a while, in that case, with Aventurine still on his shoulder, but afterward, he takes a seat on the sofa.]

[He stays up there the entire time. The second Ratio sits down, though, he is in the doctor's lap.]

[Which means it's absolutely time for Ratio to spoil him with scritches, in that case.]

[ALL THE SCRITCHES he will roll over for belly rubs.]

[Careful belly rubs, then--]

[A playful grab but no claws or teeth! Just play!

He is clearly enjoying this.]

[He is especially grateful for no teeth, but he will happily play along here.

Absolutely adorable. And... honestly, it's nice to see Aventurine having fun like this.]

[He keeps playing for a little bit, but then he yawns. The transformation's tired him out and now he just wants a nap.

Here. In Ratio's lap.]

[He chuckles a little, scritching under Aventurine's chin a little.]

Go ahead and sleep if you're tired, Aventurine.

[It'll just be illegal to move for a bit.

... He may need to brace himself for ending up with a lap full of a considerably more human-shaped gambler but he'll cross that bridge when he gets to it.]

[Another yawn, and off Aventurine drifts. He really needs the nap.

He does not transform during his nap, at least, only waking up when he starts to get hungry. But how to tell Ratio he's hungry...]

[Ratio at the moment happens to be on his phone, though he smiles when he happens to look down and sees Aventurine's awake.]

[Hm...ah!

He scrambles up, paws on Ratio's cheek. He'd put them on his mouth but he doesn't want to be a problem. Yet.]

[Yet.

He lets out a surprised noise, but laughs a little, putting down his phone.]

... Ah, right, you haven't eaten yet today, have you?
